Semakin modern, semakin maju ke depan, kita, generasi penerus bangsa, malah semakin terpuruk. Moral yang hampir tidak ada lagi, juga sikap ‘respect’ terhadap sesama. Salah satunya, bullying, kasus yang dialami hampir semua anak, mungkin semuanya. Entahlah, ini kesalahan globalisasi atau takdir yang sedang berbicara?

                Apa yang terbesit di pikiranmu ketika mendengar kata ‘bullying’? Kekerasan fisik? Ya, tapi, kekerasan fisik bukanlah satu-satu nya yamg terjadi dalam kasus-kasus bullying yang ‘membunuh’. Kata-kata yang menyakitkan juga termasuk salah satu kasus bullying. Kita semua disini pasti pernah olok-olok teman kita dengan kata-kata yang kurang pantas, baik secara langsung, ataupun tidak. Namun, apakah kalian tahu rasanya menjadi dia? Mungkin kalian tahu, tapi, kalian tidak pernah berpikir tentang perasaan dia.

                Ada beberapa alasan mengapa bullying terjadi di kalangan sekolah (sebenarnya, tidak hanya di sekolah, di hampir semua lingkungan sosial). Yang pertama, karena korban mungkin melakukan suatu kesalahan, yang sangat berpengaruh bagi lingkungannya. Walaupun itu bukan kesalahan dia sepenuhnya. Everyone makes mistakes, tetapi kita hidup bukan untuk kesalahan, kita hidup untuk memperbaiki kesalahan itu. Kamu boleh menyiapkan 100 kantung muntah setelah membaca ini, tapi, ini kenyataan.

                Yang kedua, si tukang bully yang ‘gila’ akan kepopuleran. Tujuan mereka adalah untuk mendapatkan kepopuleran. Dengan begitu, dia mungkin merasa kalau dia itu kuat dan berkuasa atas yang semua murid, otomatis, dia merasa dia dikenal semua orang dan juga diperhatikkan semua orang. Padahal, kenyataannya berbeda. Dia malah tidak disukai.

                “Hiburan semata” adalah alasan yang terakhir yang saya dapatkan dari hasil survey saya. Memang sih, kita perlu hiburan. Tapi, bukan berarti kita harus mengolok-ngolok salah satu teman kita dan kemudian tertawa atas semua itu. Kalau hanya sekali atau dua kali sih tidak apa, tetapi, kalau setiap hari? Jangan egois! Tertawa itu untuk kesenangan semua orang, bukan cuma kamu saja.

                Kamu akan memanggil mereka ‘si lemah’ karena mereka tidak pernah menanggapi sikap mu itu (bullying). Kamu pasti berpikir mereka takut akan kamu. Padahal, mereka bukan takut, mereka itu bodoh. Tapi ternyata kamu salah. Mereka bahkan lebih pintar dari kamu. Hukum Karma. Ya, aku yakin kamu pasti tahu. “Kamu akan mendapatkan apa yang kamu pernah berikan”. Mereka mengerti mengenai hal itu, makanya mereka diam dan tidak memperdulikan olok-olokkan kamu. Mereka patut diacungi jempol, karena, bertahan di tengah kata-kata yang menyakitkan itu bukanlah hal yang mudah.

                Bullying itu salah satu aksi pembunuhan karakter. Bagaimana tidak? Bayangkan, setiap hari anak itu diolok-olok oleh lingkungan sekitarnya. Anak itu pun tidak tahan lagi dan akhirnya memutuskan untuk ‘home-schooling’. Kalian tahu kan keadaan di ‘home-schooling’? Hanya ada dia dan guru privat nya. Dengan begitu, dia pasti jarang sekali bersosialisasi dengan anak yang lain. Saat dia untuk keluar dari ‘kandangnya’, dia tidak terbiasa bersosialisasi. Ketika semuanya hancur, siapa yang akan disalahkan?

                Selain pembunuhan karakter, bullying juga penyumbang angka kematian yang besar. Banyak orang yang meninggal karena tidak tahan atas perlakuan lingkungan sekitarnya. Banyak yang putus asa karena merasa dirinya begitu rendah di mata orang lain, dia mengambil jalan pintas, ya, bunuh diri.

                Saat ini, banyak orang yang telah terbuka matanya untuk kasus-kasus bullying. Bahkan, banyak selebribtis yang ikut berpartisipasi dalam memberantas kasus bullying ini di kalangan sekolah. Mereka menyumbang karya mengenai kasus bullying, misalnya, lagu ‘Mean’ oleh Taylor Swift, ‘Purple Sky’ oleh Greyson Chance, dan masih banyak lagi.

                Kita juga bisa kok ikut berpartisipasi untuk menghentikan semua ini. Mungkin, kita tidak bisa membantu secara langsung. Terkadang, kita yang membantu malah kita yang di-bully. Kita dapat memulai dari diri kita sendiri untuk berhenti meledek teman kita dengan kata-kata yang menyakitkan, kita sudah ikut berpartisipasi terhadap ini.

Tertawa itu untuk kesenangan semua orang, bukan cuma kamu saja.

                Kamu akan memanggil mereka ‘si lemah’ karena mereka tidak pernah menanggapi sikap mu itu (bullying). Kamu pasti berpikir mereka takut akan kamu. Padahal, mereka bukan takut, mereka itu bodoh. Tapi ternyata kamu salah. Mereka bahkan lebih pintar dari kamu. Hukum Karma. Ya, aku yakin kamu pasti tahu. “Kamu akan mendapatkan apa yang kamu pernah berikan”. Mereka mengerti mengenai hal itu, makanya mereka diam dan tidak memperdulikan olok-olokkan kamu. Mereka patut diacungi jempol, karena, bertahan di tengah kata-kata yang menyakitkan itu bukanlah hal yang mudah.

                Bullying itu salah satu aksi pembunuhan karakter. Bagaimana tidak? Bayangkan, setiap hari anak itu diolok-olok oleh lingkungan sekitarnya. Anak itu pun tidak tahan lagi dan akhirnya memutuskan untuk ‘home-schooling’. Kalian tahu kan keadaan di ‘home-schooling’? Hanya ada dia dan guru privat nya. Dengan begitu, dia pasti jarang sekali bersosialisasi dengan anak yang lain. Saat dia untuk keluar dari ‘kandangnya’, dia tidak terbiasa bersosialisasi. Ketika semuanya hancur, siapa yang akan disalahkan?

                Selain pembunuhan karakter, bullying juga penyumbang angka kematian yang besar. Banyak orang yang meninggal karena tidak tahan atas perlakuan lingkungan sekitarnya. Banyak yang putus asa karena merasa dirinya begitu rendah di mata orang lain, dia mengambil jalan pintas, ya, bunuh diri.

                Saat ini, banyak orang yang telah terbuka matanya untuk kasus-kasus bullying. Bahkan, banyak selebribtis yang ikut berpartisipasi dalam memberantas kasus bullying ini di kalangan sekolah. Mereka menyumbang karya mengenai kasus bullying, misalnya, lagu ‘Mean’ oleh Taylor Swift, ‘Purple Sky’ oleh Greyson Chance, dan masih banyak lagi.

                Kita juga bisa kok ikut berpartisipasi untuk menghentikan semua ini. Mungkin, kita tidak bisa membantu secara langsung. Terkadang, kita yang membantu malah kita yang di-bully. Kita dapat memulai dari diri kita sendiri untuk berhenti meledek teman kita dengan kata-kata yang menyakitkan, kita sudah ikut berpartisipasi terhadap ini.
